http://image3.examiner.com/images/blog/EXID4824/images/logo(3).JPGThe Nissan 370z NISMO is an amazing vehicle that is purpose built for track style racing. The new rev-match technology by Nissan creates a driving experience that sets this car apart from other vehicles currently available. NISMO stands for "Nissan Motorsports" and it is clearly illustrated in the design and performance package. The suspension is very stiff, and the aerodynamics are very pronounced in a manner that suggests maximum performance. With 350 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque from the factory, the Nissan 370z NISMO is a performance beast waiting to be unleashed. It's not exactly the fastest car out there from the factory, but the unique features of this car make it ideal for aftermarket tuning.

Standard with a 6-speed manual transmission featuring "SynchroRev Match" creates a driving experience comparable to Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and other exotics for a fraction of the cost. Nissan really hit the nail on the head when they designed this vehicle with the performance enthusiast in mind. Nismo tuned suspension compliments the gearbox with sticky 19 inch RAYS forged wheels to assure traction in a wide variety of driving scenarios.

Extended nose cone, integrated chin spoilers, side skirts, and functional rear spoiler create the down force needed for top speed fun. The package is completed with a unique serialized plaque of authenticity displaying your production number! Very cool!

My personal driving experience

I had a chance to drive this vehicle through the mountain roads of western San Jose, California during the Nissan Z media event. I must say that I was very impressed with the handling and curb appeal package that Nissan has delivered with the 370z NISMO. I feel that it could use some additional power for the price. This can easily be fixed by adding a twin turbo system, custom exhaust, free flowing intake, and some minor ECU tuning. It lacks the low end power needed for many corners, however this can be fixed with ECU tuning and adjustment of the VVEL. Additionally, the twin throttle body setup is perfect for twin turbo application, and the engine bay has ample room for mods that most shade tree mechanics can perform.

Zipping through the mountain roads, the Nissan 370z NISMO was as sturdy as a mountain goat. It's the type of vehicle that you can push to your limit before the car even suggests a slip. Regardless of turn cambers, the Z gracefully handled event the most steep corners at high speeds with the agility you would expect from a rally champion. By using the traction control system, this vehicle has a launch that is comparable with AWD competition. On the interstate, the vehicle is very responsive and has a nice top gear pull. The rev-match technology takes some time to get used to, but once mastered it is a very pleasurable experience that can shave seconds off your lap time. Overall, I must commend Nissan on what they've done with the Z car for the latest release of the NISMO and roadster versions. Great job Nissan!
